Friday Fives: Video Edition

I don't know what it is, but lately I've discovered a handful of incredible videos online. Between Tumblr, Facebook, and the blogging world, so many people are always sharing videos that are truly worth watching. I thought I would bring some of my favorites here today! Be good to yourself and take a little break to enjoy some great videos.

1 ||  This video really made me feel. This campaign, based in Thailand, has a goal to let every girl and woman out there know that she is beautiful: not just on the outside, but the inside, too. This specific video explores how different parenting can be for some, and to take a step back before judging a parent.

2  ||  This heartwarming video shows the amazing relationship that a boy, who has a very rare condition, builds with his three-legged dog. It really shows what unconditional love is, especially with man's best friend. Warning: it's terribly cute and may cause you to tear up.

3  ||  Who doesn't love Kid President? Last year during an event in Seattle I blew a kiss at him; he responded by blushing and nervously turning away! All of his videos are guaranteed to make you smile, but this one is a favorite. Share it with a mom you appreciate.

4  ||  J.Crew has some of the best YouTube videos. They're all short, sweet, and fun! This particular one, featuring pieces from their Crew Cuts collection, was too sweet and funny not to share. J.Crew + little kids = happiness. Can we please talk about the very literal boy in this? Too funny!

5  ||  My love for spoken word poetry sparked when I first discovered this video. Sarah Kay, a spoken word poet, has incredible rhythm and her poems have me completely immersed in my imagination. This one is my favorite of hers: If I Should Have a Daughter. Watch the video up to 3:40 - the rest is a presentation (which is also great, just long!).

Cheers! Have a fun and safe weekend!

Looks I Love: Larissa's Kiss

Inspired by the famous Larissa Loughton of the Carrie Diaries: always wild, full of color, and true to the 80s. Larissa is everything I wish I could be when it comes to fashion. She's brave, wild, young, and chic, while still being mature, strong, and put together. Though many trends from the 80s are long gone, many looks are making their way back into today's "it" look. I love statement + slouchy pants. These leopard print ones are amazing (did I mention they're more than 50% off?) and are too perfect with this Alexander McQueen blazer. Larissa will always be a fashion inspiration of mine!

What fictional characters do you gain inspiration from?

Cheers!

Spring Break Inspiration

Spring break is around the corner... What?! This year is my first year sharing a spring break with my boyfriend Chris, and I couldn't be more excited. We planned a trip to southern California, but we may end up taking a road trip to Nevada instead. It's still really up in the air, but thankfully we still have a month to plan. I'm ready to spend some quality time in the sun, swimming, and with Chris. A little vacation down south in the sun is exactly what I need.
Here are a few photos and pieces that are heavily influencing my style for the trip:

Snow Fall

Washington was blessed to have half a foot(ish) of snow this past weekend! Though it didn't snow south of where I go to school, the snow on my campus was plentiful. It was fun to play around in. I haven't played in snow in so long! A bunch of friends and I ventured outside to throw snowballs, take photos, and have fun. It was great! I don't own any snow gear, so I stuck with my traditional "cold weather go-to" pieces. It was hard to keep my eyes open in these photos and when the wind was blowing in my direction! Thankfully we still had a few good shots.

Weekly Goals #5

{link}

I'm proud to say I completed both my weekly goals from two weeks ago! Changing my study habits is my current priority and thus, one of my goals for this week. I'm excited to finish out the last week of the second month this year strong and reach my goals.

{Spend 5 hours studying for my public health exam Thursday}

{Finish my public health paper before Wednesday night, by Wednesday afternoon}

Have a great week everyone! Here's a happy quote to set the mood for this week.

Cheers!

Sunday Funday in the Snow

I woke up this morning to half a foot of snow! Washington's weather hasn't been like the rest of the country; we've had only one other snow day this school year! Some of my friends and I spent a good couple of hours playing it in, taking photos, and sledding. I wanted to share a couple of photos of the snow with you. Have a great week!

Friday Fives

1. My best friend Gabi recently moved back (this month!) to the United States from New Zealand, where she's lived for the past two years. I'm so thankful to have her back, and she surprised me with these super cute journals and pens! The pens are really nice and smooth - the ink is dark, comes out easily, and they've become my new go-to pen during class. The brand, Kikki.K, has so many great items, from stationary, notebooks, pens, and calendars, to bags, organizers, and homewares. This Australian based company is definitely a new favorite of mine. You can find my notebooks and pens here.

2. I spend an awful lot of time at the beach this week. Washington has some really incredible cold, rocky beaches that are nice to visit when I need to de-stress. This beach is only a short drive from my campus and always has cute dogs running around. I brought my camera with me and decided to build some "rock towers" and snap a few photos!

3. Along with some beautiful beaches, Washington also has amazing sunsets. I took this one my phone (sorry for the quality) - it's breathtaking! This was taken during yet another day at the beach.

4. While browsing Reddit (I'm hooked!), I came across this old but still so cute photo of a bulldog and his little friend. Photos like this make my heart melt!

5. As every post in the blogging sphere suggests, I'm ready for winter to end and spring and summer to begin. Warm weather, fresh fruits, swimming. It all sounds amazing! This picture just screams summer to me - are pineapples going to be another huge trend this year? Let's hope so.

A Little Sparkle

It's no secret to anyone that BaubleBar has some of the most beautiful jewelry. How beautiful is this mini pavé links strand necklace? With affordable prices, it's impossible not to get your hands on a couple of items. While browsing the site, I found a handful of items I fell absolutely in love with. All the earrings they have right now are incredible, and you can always count on finding a head turning statement necklace.

Where are your favorite places to buy jewelry?

Cheers!

What I'm Loving Wednesday: Discovering Sandals

Sandals have always been a favorite of mine. They are the shoe that express what spring and summer are about: warm air, bright skies, blooming flowers, lounging with loved ones. While searching through Polyvore, I discovered a handful of favorites, all relatively inexpensive! The gold Gap ones are my favorite, but I will always have a (huge) soft spot in my heart for Gladiator sandals.

Absence

It's been almost a week since I last posted. I've been so busy with school, club activities, visiting a friend who recently moved back here, and spending time with my boyfriend, I haven't had much time to sit down and make some quality blog posts. I decided it would be more appropriate to not blog for a bit rather than try to whip out some fast, low quality post. I apologize for not being consistent but promise to do better in the near and distant future! Thank you for being understanding! I can't wait to begin my new posts and for upcoming features.

Cheers!

What I'm Loving Wednesday: Spring Fever

Recently I have been introduced to the wonderful world of Polyvore. Today while searching around, I found a few pieces (all well out of my price range) that I fell in love with. They all say spring to me: the colors, the prints, the cuts. I realized while compiling this post how similar some of the items are - the colors in the jumpsuit, bag, and shorts are all the same! I thought I would share my favorite pieces. When will spring be here?

Weekly Goals #4

Last week was a little crazy for me. I was in bed sick, I had a lot of reading to do for my classes, my best friend who moved to New Zealand moved back, and I went on the Delts winter formal during the weekend. It was a lot! Unfortunately, I didn't fulfill my goals. The weather wasn't very nice for photos, and visiting the rec center wasn't a priority of mine. This week, though, I believe my goals will be reached.

{Study for 5 hours for my Canadian Studies midterm}

{Prepare for my internship meeting this Friday}

Even though I'm already in my second quarter of college (what?!), studying is still a struggle for me. I've made it a goal of mine to dedicate 5 hours before Wednesday morning to studying for my Canadian Studies midterm. 5 hours sounds like a lot to me, but I know compared to many others, it's nothing. I want to change my study habits so I can receive successful grades. Like the quote above, if I don't change my study habits, my grades won't improve. I also have a meeting with a woman I know this Friday in Seattle about a summer internship. I'm very excited and want to prepare myself fully for the meeting!

I hope everyone has a great week! Here's a little quote, just for fun.

Cheers!

Delta Tau Delta Formal!

"If he's not DTD, he's not for me!"

Mondays are typically my (new) day where I post my weekly goals (seen here, here, and here), but today I'm just too excited to share some photos from my boyfriend Chris' fraternity formal this weekend! It was held in a beautiful bavarian town Leavenworth - it snowed while we had dinner and was such a magical night! I'm lucky that I'm so many of my closest friends attended and to have gotten to know so many of the other guys in the house so well. Even my best friend, Paul, is now a Delt! It was an amazing weekend - fraternity formals are the best!

My sequin dress - Tobi (similar here)
I ordered this dress last winter for 50% off - all new members receive 50% off their first order. How great is that? My dress was only $34!

Cheers!

Friday Fives: Instagram Recap

Everyone (and their mothers) has an Instagram. It's definitely my favorite app and one of the most fun ways to share photos with others! Unfortunately, since my phone is broken, I can rarely post photos and don't post regularly. If you don't follow me on Instagram (which you should!) here's a recap of my most recent photos:
